Representative David Grimes was elected to the Alabama House of Representatives in 2002. He is married to the former Barbara Calhoun of Opelika and they have two sons: John-David and Tyler.

Representative Grimes is a graduate of Troy University and has been in the life insurance business since 1978. He is a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where he serves as a Deacon.

As a member of the House, Representative Grimes enjoys assisting school children with tours of the House and learning about the legislative process.

His activities include:

  • Board Member, YMCA Camp Chandler (over 20 years)
  • Member, Montgomery Rotary Club
