WHEREAS, it is with great pride and pleasure that the Ider High School Cheerleaders are most heartily congratulated for their spirited leadership of students and fans during pep rallies and games and on winning the 1999 Small Varsity Division National Championship at the World Cheerleading Association in Nashville, Tennessee; and
WHEREAS, coached in stunts, tumbling, and choreography by Kathy Wells, the Ider High School Cheerleaders won the Small Varsity National Championship in 1997 and finished as runners-up in the competition in 1998, thereby winning their second national title in three years; and
WHEREAS, this talented group of Ider High School Cheerleaders are: Team Captain Ashley Gann, Co-Captain April Hall, Katie Mann, Rebecca Kilgore, LaWanda Moore, Amanda Todd, Kandice Overby, and Brooke Tinker; and
WHEREAS, the people of Alabama are proud to recognize athletes the caliber of the Ider High School Cheerleaders, who possess the skill and determination to succeed in their efforts; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That the Ider High School Cheerleaders are congratulated on winning the 1999 Small Varsity National Cheerleading Championship, and it is further directed that a copy of this resolution be provided to each team member, Coach Wells, and for appropriate display at Ider High School with sincere best wishes for future endeavors.
