WHEREAS, heartiest congratulations and recognition are hereby expressed to Rachael Cheatwood of White Plains, Alabama, upon her recent appearance on the nationally syndicated television show "Martha Stewart Living"; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Cheatwood's nephew is a hair and make-up artist in New York City, New York, and informed Martha Stewart about his aunt's recipes and cooking abilities; and

WHEREAS, upon his recommendation, Martha Stewart extended an invitation to Mrs. Cheatwood to come to New York and appear on her show, and discuss one of her favorite and most famous recipes, red velvet cake; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Cheatwood, along with her daughter Jackie Humphreys, then traveled to New York and spent a day and a half at the Martha Stewart television studio; in addition, Mrs. Cheatwood visited Ms. Stewart's home in Connecticut, where she strolled through herb gardens and viewed her famous exotic chickens; and

WHEREAS, as a result of her wonderful experience, Mrs. Cheatwood's secret recipe for red velvet cake is now being broadcast not only via television, but also across the globe via the Internet, truly making her a world-renowned celebrity; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That Rachael Cheatwood is hereby congratulated on her cooking expertise and especially for her talent leading her to an appearance on the Martha Stewart Living show.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That in appreciation for the efforts she has made to promote Alabama and the talents of its citizens, a copy of this resolution be provided to Rachael Cheatwood with sincere gratitude and best wishes for continued success.
