MOURNING THE DEATH OF FRED GORDON BOSTICK OF RED BAY, ALABAMA.

WHEREAS, the Alabama Legislature is grievously saddened by the death of Fred Gordon Bostick, of Red Bay, Alabama on November 20, 2001, at the age of 78 years; and

WHEREAS, Fred Bostick, was a retired businessman and chairman Emeritus of Sunshine Mills, a Red Bay company he co-founded in 1947 with his father-in-law, Omer J. Bullen; and as a decorated veteran of World War II, he served in the 9th Army in France, Belgium and Germany, and participated in the Battle of the Bulge; and

WHEREAS, Fred Bostick's death has indeed left a deep void in the life of his community and family; he is survived by his wife of 54 years, Martha Bostick; daughters, Harriet Daniel and Jill Bostick; sons, John Bostick and Alan Bostick; sister, Patsy Sparks; and eight grandchildren; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That even as we mourn his death, we give thanks for the life of the late Fred Gordon Bostick, and extend our deepest sympathy to his family, for whom a copy of this resolution shall be provided.
