MOURNING THE DEATH OF MRS. RUTH PARTRIDGE ISHAM OF IRVINGTON, ALABAMA.

WHEREAS, herein recorded with deepest sorrow and regret is the death of Mrs. Ruth Partridge Isham of Irvington, Alabama, on February 14, 2001; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Isham was a native and lifelong resident of the St. Elmo/Irvington area and was a dedicated member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 178 in Grand Bay, where she served as a Past Worthy Matron; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Isham was a devout Christian who faithfully attended the First United Methodist Church of Irvington for many years; and

WHEREAS, her life was committed to a strong tradition of service, hard work, and excellence in everything she undertook, and the example she set will live on for many years through the lives she touched; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Isham was a tower of strength and a source of comfort and guidance to her family and many friends, and her death has indeed left a deep void in the lives and hearts of all those who knew and loved her; and

WHEREAS, left to cherish the memory of Mrs. Isham are her beloved husband of 54 years, Charlie Diffee Isham; sons, Arthur Isham and his wife, Virginia, and Dexter Isham and his wife, Margaret; three sisters, Margaret Akridge, Clydene Myer, and Joanne Sprinkle; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a host of many other relatives and friends; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That even as her death is mourned with a deep sense of sadness and loss, the life and accomplishments of Mrs. Ruth Partridge Isham are herein celebrated, and it is directed that a copy of this resolution shall be provided to her family that they may know we sincerely share the sorrow of their great and grievous loss.
