Relating to Jefferson County; authorizing the sale of beer with a higher alcohol content by any licensee of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
Section 1. The provisions of this act shall only apply in Jefferson County.
Section 2. (a) For purposes of this act, the term beer or malt or brewed beverages means any beer, lager beer, ale, porter, malt or brewed beverage, or similar fermented malt liquor containing one-half of one percent or more of alcohol by volume and not in excess of fourteen and nine-tenths percent by volume, by whatever name the same may be called.
(b) Pursuant to the authority granted in Section 104 of the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, now appearing as Section 104 of the Official Recompilation of the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, as amended, the sale of beer or malt or brewed beverages by a licensee of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board is lawful in the county.
Section 3. This act shall become effective on the first day of the third month following its passage and approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
