Representative Dan Williams was elected to the Alabama House of Representatives on November 2, 2010.

He is a graduate of Athens High School and Auburn University.

Representative Williams served as mayor of Athens from 1992 until 2010 and served as a member of the Athens City Council from 1984 until 1992.  Prior to that, he served on the Athens City Board of Education from 1979 until 1984.

He is a retired first sergeant with the Alabama Army National Guard’s 1343rd Engineer Battalion based in Athens.
