Representative Ronald Grantland was elected in 1998. He was born on March 11, 1947, received his B.A. from Athens State, M.P.H. from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and his Degree as Certified Public Manager from Auburn University at Montgomery.
He and his wife, Joan, are the parents of two children, Landon and Loren.
Representative Grantland is a member of the East Highland Baptist Church.
Distinguished twice as Civitan of the Year, Representative Grantland has served as President of the Hartselle Civitan Club, member of Terrel Industries, and the Hartselle Planning Commission. He also served from 1992 to 1996 on the Hartselle City Council.
