Representative Elwyn Thomas was elected in 1998. He was born on February 18, 1943, attended the Lincoln Graduate Center, and Alabama Bankers' Seminars.
He and his wife, Linda are the parents of a daughter, Teresa Ratliff.
Representative Thomas is a member of the First Baptist Church of Oneonta. He is also a member of the Blount County Chamber of Commerce, the Alabama Realtors' Association, the St. Clair County Board of Realtors, and the Gideons.
Representative Thomas is also a former member of the Farmers' Home Administration Loan Committee, Blount County.
