Representative James Martin was elected in 1998. He was born on December 14, 1938, and received his B.S. Degree from John A. Gupton College.
He and his wife, Norma, are the parents of two children, Jim and Kim, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchild.
Representative Martin is co-owner of Martin Funeral Home, Inc. and is a member of the First Baptist Church. Having served as the Chilton County Coroner for 36 years, he also serves on the Board of Directors for the Chilton County Chamber of Commerce, and as a member of the Alabama Funeral Directors' Association. Representative Martin has served as a past President and Board Member of the Clanton Country Club and is a former member of the Jaycees.
