HONORING MR. TANG CHAI YOONG.
WHEREAS, it is indeed an honor and a privilege to recognize the distinguished Mr. Tang Chai Yoong of Malaysia and welcome him to the great State of Alabama; and
WHEREAS, one of the top ten businessmen and philanthropists in Malaysia, he currently is the Executive Chairman of Kumpulan Lankawi Resources Group, an established conglomerate specializing in seven core areas of business; among the enterprises included are: property development and management; construction; higher education; information technology and multimedia; pharmaceutical trading; and others which encompass some 41 companies; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Tang Chai Yoong represents Putra International College which is in partnership with Troy University for the furtherance of education and the pursuit of various goals of mutual interest; their first joint graduation in Malaysia is scheduled to occur on May 19, 2007; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Tang Chai Yoong is expected to be awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Troy University during its commencement ceremonies on May 10, 2007; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That we consider it a distinct honor to welcome Mr. Tang Chai Yoong to the House of Representatives of the State of Alabama, and with utmost respect and admiration, we offer this resolution in tribute.
