Senator Williams was elected to the Alabama Senate on November 2, 2010.

He was born into a military family, March 20, 1965, at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey.

Senator Williams received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Alabama, and his Juris Doctorate from the Birmingham School of Law. He also completed the United States Army Combined Arms and Service Staff School, and the United States Army Command and General Staff College.

Senator Williams is an Airborne Ranger and currently holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserve and has served for 24 years in various reserve component Special Operations and Airborne units. Since 9/11 he has served two combat tours in the Global War on Terror, one each in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as one tour in the Pentagon on the Army Staff’s Special Operations Division

Senator Williams currently serves as Chief Operations Officer and General Counsel for the Tax Credit Processing Center, LLC.

He is a Southern Baptist and his interests include history, sporting clays and militaria.
