Email: Senator Kim Benefield

Senator Benefield, the daughter of a public educator, grew up on a farm in rural Randolph County. She earned a B.S. degree in accounting from Jacksonville State University. Senator Benefield was first elected as Circuit Clerk of Randolph County in 1988 and served eighteen years. Randolph County is one of four counties comprising the 5th Judicial Circuit.

Senator Benefield is a born again Christian and serves Zion Baptist Church as pianist and teacher of the Young Adult Sunday School class. She and her husband, Dennis have been married 34 years and have one daughter (Kelly Vandagriff married to Greg Vandagriff) and three wonderful grandchildren, Brock, Anna Greer and Audrey.

Senator Benefield has served her community through United Way, as an officer and Board Member of the Randolph County Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Randolph County, treasurer of the Randolph County Baptist Association, and PTA.

Interest include time with her grandchildren, gardening, church ministries, reading and Auburn football.
