Senator Scott Beason entered into the realm of politics early by being elected to the Alabama House of Representatives at the age of 28. He went on to serve two terms in the House where he eventually became the minority whip.

Beason was elected to the State Senate in 2006 and was quickly enlisted to be the Senate Republican Whip. Now serving in his second term in the Senate and has been the Chairman of the Senate Rules Committee that sets the calendar for when issues are to be considered by the full Senate.

He is widely considered one of the most conservative members of the Alabama Legislature and has led the fight on important and difficult issues ranging from illegal immigration to budgetary reform measures to opposition of the national healthcare mandates.

Beason is a small businessman who has been involved in various entrepreneurial endeavors over the years. He and his wife Lori have three children Keller, Merritt, and McCalan. They are members of Gardendale First Baptist Church.

Senator Beason received a degree in Geology from the University of Alabama. He is a member of the Jefferson County Republican Executive Committee and the Alabama Republican State Executive Committee. He has been a Gideon, an honorary Rotarian, and a member and board member of the chamber of commerce.

The Senator has been published nationally in USA Today and He has also appeared in countless television and radio interviews with global media outlets from Fox News to CNN to the BBC; Al Jazeera and everything in between.
