Senator Pittman was first elected to the Senate, October 16, 2007, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Senator Bradley Byrne, and was re-elected in November, 2010.

He was born in 1960, in Birmingham. Senator Pittman received his Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce and Business Administration from the University of Alabama. He is the owner of Pittman Tractor Company in Baldwin County.

Senator Pittman and his wife, Lynn, are members of Fairhope United Methodist Church. His hobbies include fishing, hunting and golf.
